Positano Rec's

Hotels:

HOTEL COVO DEI SARACENI

Definitely pricey, but located right by the docks, very beautiful and has a pool.

HOTEL PUNTA REGINA

Great location views and has a pool!

HOTEL ROYAL PRISCO

A little more affordable, great views and location.

Beach Clubs:

De Aldofo’s was our favorite (you have to take a boat from the dock and it comes every 30 minutes) The spaghetti with clams was my favorite!

Conca del Sogno - where are the celebs go, I recommend renting a private boat for the day to take you around swimming spots and have them take you to lunch here. You’ll definitely need a reservation two weeks in advance, the lobster pasta is amazing and the zucchini flowers!

Any of the beach clubs have amazing food in Positano, just get there early to reserve a table and beach chairs (also ask for the local white wine with peaches, they soak the wine in peaches and its so good and refreshing!)

Restaurants:

a reservation is needed at least 2 weeks in advance everywhere, it’s very small and especially needed during July and August

Best cocktails at Il San Pietro di Positano (boat needed to get there) amazing views and great for photos!

Nightlife:

There are a lot of little bars to have drinks at or just after drinks at restaurants and there is one club called Music on The Rocks that is fun, but just warning you it is very much a club experience with loud music, lights and stays open till 4 am, the cover charge is 40 euro to get in. There is an upstairs section that’s more of a lounge vibe and it closes at 2am.

Notes:

Boats are the best way to get around, it’s pretty easy to get water taxis, there’s a stand at the dock or the restaurants can usually arrange one for you, but in busy season you may need to book in advance.

There’s are SO MANY STAIRS, don’t bring heels you won’t need them, I brought very short ones with a block heel, if your hotel is at the top, be prepared for a lot of walking up and down.

Arrival and travel to and from:

To get to Positano you fly into Naples airport and drive roughly an hour and a half to 2 hours into Positano, you can also get a helicopter there but it’s probably more expensive. When you arrive there’s a point where cars aren’t allowed so if your hotel is down further, they will drop you off at one of the parking lots and that is where you will get picked back up when you leave.

For heavy luggage they have porters that will carry your luggage up or down for you so you don't have to haul it yourself. I would call ahead to your hotel and they can schedule that for you - it's worth EVERY penny!
